Here the actual Greek word has meaning of trial also. And the context also shows it. When you long for marriage and you pray for it and God does not give it to you, it is your trial. You will never find out what you’re made of until you push yourself to the edge.

So when you are still single, and you are longing to be not, you are learning patience. Rejoice. The one who goes to gym to practice, feels pain. But he rejoices. Because he knows he is making muscles. No pain, no gain!

Everything in this world is headed towards death. Once a beautiful and energetic child grows old and eventually dies and turns into bones and ashes. Once a tall tree falls to the ground and mixes with soil of forest. Once a bright star runs out of its fuel and turns into darkness. The whole world is headed toward darkness and cold. It is only in Jesus Christ that we have this process reversed in us. We grow brighter and brighter as we learn more and more about the truth and the word of God and eventually we will be risen from the dead and live with Jesus forever. This is the opposite of the nature of our worldly bodies and this is the life un Christ in contrary to the death of this world. As the world goes darker and cooler every day, we grow brighter and more vital by the grace of God. Amen.

Here holy is you and pearls is your body and your talents. Dogs and swine is demons. Do not give/devote yourself to demons lest they degrade you, humiliate you and destroy you. Following your temptations is a way of giving yourself to Satan. Your sins become an addiction over time. And any type of addiction ends up the same: You will end up being degraded and humiliated and destroyed.

Perhaps Capernaum was a religious city and these men asking for tribute to the house of God.

He saith, Yes. And when he was come into the house, Jesus prevented him, saying, What thinkest thou, Simon? of whom do the kings of the earth take custom or tribute? of their own children, or of strangers?
Peter saith unto him, Of strangers. Jesus saith unto him, Then are the children free.

Jesus actually has no problem with paying tribute. He expected Peter to declare to those men that Jesus is the Son of God. And that Son of God does not pay tribute to house of God. He expected Peter to He bolder in his ministry.

You must be tolerable to people about your own benefits if you want God to be tolerable about you in heaven. If you say for example, I never forgive someone who takes my place in a queue, or I never forgive someone who talks behind my back, or I never allow someone to borrow something and not return it to me, then expect God to treat you the same in heaven. You must have heard that love is based on chemistry. That love just happens. That there are some molecules in body that cause love to happen between two people even at first sight! So what are these molecules that scientists are talking about? Where can you get the Love Pill?! Is this another empty promise of the secular world? Read what our lord tells us about love:

Can you now go to your creator and say: “Lord I tried to love my neighbor but… chemistry didn’t work!” Or: “Father I really tried to love you, but it just didn’t happen. But you keep searching. Soon you will find another human who loves you for who you are!”

In the world we live in, all the good things are from God. All our talents and strength is from above:

James 1:17-27

Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.

Sickness, determination, aging, accidents and catastrophies and limitations of this world are not from God, but from the enemy.

Of his own will brings forth he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of first- fruits of his creatures.

Now that our lord has given us both talents in a healthy body and his word of truth, it is our responsibility to use both to spread his goodness in the world. And to substitute what is from the enemy, the sicknesses, the poverty, the hunger, with healing, financial help, good food and other services we can provide. The same, it is our duty to replace deceit and lies with our lord’s word of truth.
