You must have heard that love is based on chemistry. That love just happens. That there are some molecules in body that cause love to happen between two people even at first sight! So what are these molecules that scientists are talking about? Where can you get the Love Pill?! Is this another empty promise of the secular world? Read what our lord tells us about love:
Matthew 22:37-40
- Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
- This is the first and great commandment.
- And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
- On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.
Can you now go to your creator and say: “Lord I tried to love my neighbor but… chemistry didn’t work!” Or: “Father I really tried to love you, but it just didn’t happen. But you keep searching. Soon you will find another human who loves you for who you are!”
Of course not! The fact that God has made it a commandment to love himself and to love your neighbor, makes love as a decision we make and not something out of out control. Otherwise why would God demand from us something that is out of our hands?
